Residents of Oxbow,
All city owned vehicles are ready for winter and the snow removal season. We have specifically marked the storm drains and have lined some city street locations with orange reflective markers to help protect the equipment.
We are asking residents to do several things:
1) Mark your yard, focusing on areas where you may have significant landscaping materials
2) Help keep fire hydrants clear
3) DO NOT approach city equipment while snow removal is in progress
It’s important all residents understand, the main goal of the snow removal effort is to ensure emergency vehicles have access to every residence. We recommend you heed all issued travel warnings and when Cass County and state officials pull their vehicles off the roads, we will continue working our streets which may give a false sense the roads are open to Fargo.
We will do our best to move the snow without creating piles in specific yards and creating snow berms at the end of your driveway, but this won’t always be practical.
Finally, our snow removal crew is a volunteer force and each one is a resident of Oxbow, possibly a close neighbor, be sure to take that into account when it gets frustrating out here during a storm. However, if you have a concern or complaint (or if you’d like to join our volunteer snow removal team) you can contact the Mayor, any council member or the City Auditor. Anonymous complaints won’t be addressed.
